What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a primary health- care profession that specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves.
Chiropractic treatment involves safe, often gentle, specific spinal manipulation to free joints in the spine. Apart from manipulation, Chiropractors may use a variety of techniques including soft tissue techniques, mobilisation techniques, kinesiotaping as well as advice about posture, lifestyle and nutrition.

Although Chiropractors are best known for treating back and neck pain, patients also consult Chiropractors regarding a range of other related conditions, such as plantar faciitis, tennis elbow, knee and shoulder problems and many more aches and pains.

Questions?
How many Treatments will I need?
The number of treatments needed depend on many factors such as how long the injury has been there, how severe it is, if there is underlying damage to tissues, such as arthritis, the age of the patient and day to day lifestyle of the patient.
The minimum number of treatments is often 2, the maxiumum is often a 6 - 8 week treatment course for chronic severe conditions, patients are reassessed regularly.

What's an adjustment?
It is a small, mimimal quick movement to the a joint, to improve it's movement and overall function.

Is there evidence?
There has been recent studies, that have shown Chiropractic has a positive effect on joint position sense and can un-inhibiting and relaxing surrounding musculature, as well as improving the joints functional range of movement and decreasing pain levels for spinal joints.

Is there any exercises I can do at home to supplement treatment?
Absolutely! We use specialised software to make personalised home exercise rehabilitation exercise sheets. These include videos, exercise descriptions and a printable accountability tick off sheet sheet, to ensure you are keeping up with your exercises.

I want to come in for self care, but I have no pain, is that ok?
Of course! "If you look after your body when it whispers, you won't have to hear it scream." We are great believers in self care, maintenance and focusing on peak health. Many clients find great benefit in self care and maintenance treatments and like to schedule regular MOT's.

TESTIMONIALS
I went to Emma as I was having pain on my right shoulder. As an age grouper triathlete for team GB I needed the fastest recovery I could have as races were approaching quickly. Emma was very efficient and successful with her treatment. The body needs time to heal but Emma diagnosed the exact area to treat from the very beginning making every session worth it. Thank you so much Emma for helping me be on the start line in fully capable conditions.
TEAM GB TRIATHLETE -TERESA
I've received treatment from both Emma and Sophie. Both amazingly talented, professional and friendly doctors. The atmosphere is always calm and relaxed. They've helped me no end with my scoliosis and hypermobility. Best chiropractors I've ever seen.

I don't normally write reviews, but felt I had to on this occasion after the treatment I have received from Sophie. I was suffering from a frozen shoulder, aswell as neck and back pain from an operation I had a few years ago. Sophie made me feel so at ease straight away. She is so approachable and kind and always explains what she is going to do before she does her techniques. I wish I had come to her sooner, I can't tell you how much better I feel after such a short amount of time!! I would definitely recommend Sophie to anyone...she is amazing!
